Question by mom of 3 boys: how do you teach your 1st grade boy to not make fun of people???
It hurts me when I hear him say stuff like, “There is two kids in my class that pee in their pants, and in their bed, because they are babies!” Or, “He is blind(because they wear glasses).” I tell him it’s not nice. But I am sure that doesn’t do any good. I got picked on as a child and I don’t want him to be a bully kid, but what do you do??

Every time he says something cruel, as him if his words were helpful or hurtful. Ask him how he would feel if someone said something like that about him. hopefully he will quickly learn how his words hurt others.
